A relative of mine used to do business in Japan, and he used PowerPoint a lot.
However, I was very surprised to find out that Microsoft PowerPoint does not allow for furigana!
Is this seen as a problem in Japan?
Also, does anyone have any good workarounds for this?
I’m a software developer, and I’ve been looking into possible solutions, but I don’t know anyone who would actually care about a solution being made, so I haven’t done anything yet 😅

Yup. There’s no dedicated ruby character phonetic guide insertion the way there is for Word. All Japanese tutorials involve shrunken kana on top of standard text.
Which is why I use Keynote.
Have you tried to cut and paste something from Word?
