Humanities Visa and Registering a Business

Hi Japan Life,

I can’t find any clear cut answers in my searching, so hopefully you can help.

I’m currently on a humanities visa and have recently began selling handmade goods at craft markets recently and have 2 questions as I rapidly approach the point where I need to declare the income for tax purposes:

1. Is it possible to register for sole proprietorship on my current visa? I’d like to be able to offer PayPay and other electronic payment options to my customers.

2. Is it necessary to apply for Permission to Engage in Other Activity? As the design work falls under the Humanities Visa umbrella, I’m unsure as to if this is necessary.

Thank you in advance, and I hope that in the future someone can use some of the information in the comments to help answer their questions!

  1. What do you mean by craft markets where you want to sell? Is it online or offline?

    Anyway,

    2. You must have the permission if you want to do something else. You said design is included in your visa. But you are trying to sell it, right?

Just take the permission first and you can apply for so proprietorship.
