Consider visiting Kagoshima if you can, Sengan-en is gorgeous, worth the trip there alone and easily accessible by car. Unless you have a very specific reason for visiting Miyazaki I’d choose Kagoshima over it every time.
If Japanese history is your thing and you don’t mind reserving tickets beforehand, consider doing Shiomi Park and Ukiha Inari on another day (visiting Shiomi Park basically means driving back to Fukuoka anyhow) and take a car ferry from Taira or Shimabara over to Kumamoto instead. The former will place Reigando cave directly on your route to Kumamoto, while the latter is an interesting historical/onsen town in its own right.
