Year end sale arimasu ka

Hi guys, does Japan have year end sale or black Friday at physical store or e-store? Amazon Japan for example.
I’m thinking if buying a Switch but because it’s almost year end, maybe I should wait.

My Japanese colleague said that during year end, the price will go up instead of down because everyone wants to buy present and they will buy no matter how much it is.

I’m confused now.

Maybe someone can enlighten me?

Thank you in advance

  1. Don’t buy a new Switch now. It is at the end of its life. If you’ve waited this long, wait a bit longer and buy after the next console is announced or released.

    Or buy used.

  2. Black Friday starts next Friday. Almost all department stores and malls are already planning and putting up posters.

  3. Rakuten has sale in January. Last year, they had the switch for 26.000Â¥ was the normal switch not the Lite

  4. Have you considered the new steam deck OLED instead of the switch? Since you’re mostly a PC gamer you could use your existing game library and not be forced to buy a bunch of switch games which can then only be used on the switch and which stop working if your switch does.

You might be able to get the older steam deck for cheaper as well since the better oled one just launched this week, but on the other hand the OLED has much better battery life.
