Hi JETs, I’m very excited to join you all as an incoming Ishikawa-ken JET! I’ve been looking for information about this but I’m still a bit unclear on it. Now that I have my placement, should I look into flights for myself? Or, is this something that is coordinated through CLAIR? It seems the flight back from Japan is covered by your CO, but I’ve seen little information about the flight to Japan in the first place.

>No, it is not permitted to come to Japan on any flight **other than the one arranged for you.** In exceptional, unavoidable cases, it may be permitted under the condition that all relevant expenses are paid for by the JET Programme participant.

Your flight is covered. You will be flying in with other JETs from your consulate after your orientation in your home country. Your placement email should have your departure date, specific flight information will come later.
