I’ve been wanting to try some local chocolate makers’ stuff. Something that is not like a huge popular international brand or mass production chocolate like Meiji and Glica, but rather local chocolate business (maybe even family business) products.
Do you have a local place that you absolutely love? I’m in Kanto, but happy to accept recommendations from anywhere in Japan.
Thanks!

If you’re ever in Yamanashi area I love this shop [Artisan Palet D’or](https://artisan-palet-dor.com/).
Cacao Zoku in Denenchofu.
Recently discovered Chocolatier Erica in Shirokanedai (Tokyo), and their Ma Bonne bar has been my go-to for gifts!
In Kyoto, [Bel Amer](https://belamer-kyoto.jp/) for cute boxed chocolates with a traditional Japanese aesthetic, and [Coco Kyoto](https://coco-cacao.jp/) for bean to bar, raw and sugar free chocolate, and some great desserts.
Sils Maria has really good 生チョコ – in fact, I think they are the first to make that type.
Minimal is my go-to for client/friend gifts. They make really good chocs and cakes.
[Kotje Le Chocolat](https://kotjenasu.base.shop/) out in Nasu/Shiobara/Kuroiso. (Make it a day trip and hit up N’s yard and nearby Aoki-tei as well)
You were craving fancy chocolates after watching H3 last week too? 😂
