Good ways to meet people in Fukuoka not in bars…?

What’re some cool ways you’ve met new friends / partner in Fukuoka other than dating apps, and bars?

  1. The good old classic joining everything on meetup.com that seems fun around your area

  2. Magic the Gathering tournaments.

No, seriosuly. Just times and places where people with a shared interest will show ip.

  3. Same way as anywhere else. Look up “meet people” in this sub, and you’ll find 372810 other threads that have answered this already.

  4. Thanks… lol.
Was wondering if there was a go to group for Fukuoka-ites. Anyone that lives there now, has there been a solid gathering? Mayyyybe not magic the gathering…

  5. The big square really. Right beside the Solaria station. I sat there for a few mins and crossed paths with a few people looking to hangout. Sent me IG requests and everything

  6. There’s a Facebook group. International friends Fukuoka (something like that).

  7. The tennis group in Fukuoka is the bomb, never met a friendlier group in Japan

  8. Go on social media (even Facebook) and join groups related to your interest. Start meeting people / going to events through these groups. Then branch your friend circle out from there. Obviously language skills will determine how restricted you’ll be. If you have no Japanese skills at all, then use meetup groups instead.

  9. Check out your local Mormon church. They’ll have a weekly free English class and you can show up and make friends with the students or missionaries (whichever floats your boat).

  10. Fuckuoka is the greatest city in Japan to pick up. If you can’t meet people in Tenjin or Canal City no advice will help, and you don’t have to be in a bar. Can meet people in coffee shops, in the mall, walking down the street, waiting to see a movie is where I’ve met people before when there.

  11. English café or event like this, a lot of foreigner and japanese people.

Go to organised visit or join a group of an activity you like.

I usually just got out with a map, look list and japanese people come to talk to me 🙂

Depends also your age and what kind of people you are looking.

In the past they were a lot of people hanging out near tenjin train station near the temple…lot of young people listenimg music, skating…
