Had a good talk with a Japanese guy about relationships, societal pressures as a Japanese person and stuff of that nature while drinking chu-hi’s next to the konbini. Left me kind of depressed afterwards with just how hard this society can be, especially to the outsiders and artists who don’t conform to its standards. And how much of that gets ingrained into a person’s psyche. I read about it sure, but hearing about the experiences of someone growing up in it first hand really hits differently.
I keep getting ghosted by these recruiters that contact me on Whatsapp. I wanted to thank him for giving me the opportunity to apply for the position but I accidentally wrote ‘ Thank you for giving me the opportunity of possibly joining your scheme, I mean team’. I didn’t hear back from him after that. If you’re looking to get anywhere with these people I’d also recommend avoiding the following pitfalls:
Don’t insist on discussing the Haitian revolution in detail before getting down to business.
Don’t make up medical conditions in an effort to stand out from the other candidates. My Permanently Inflamed Tender Anus did nothing for me.
Don’t ask them to send you nudes. Try to keep it professional.
No nicknames.
It’s hometown tax season. Anyone find any cool stuff?
I kinda feel bad for the muffin food poisoning girl, idk. I wonder why she didn’t refrigerate those muffins….
The innocence of a child, I swear.
Recently my son has been very proudly and openly telling people we meet at festivals, etc., “My Dad’s a foreigner!” I think everyone else noticed, but thanks for the heads up.
A teacher put a diaper on my daughter backwards, and I was so happy someone not me screwed up I took a picture. Than I felt bad for being petty, so there’s that much good left in me.
My brain glitched hard – I heard the sound of a heavy, military-type helicopter, looked up and saw a bird, and it took me a second or two to un-think “Drone! Get to cover!” Might need more sleep.
Getting frustrated about the driver’s license test… Just failed my second attempt at the learner’s permit test.
Made a silly mistake of putting my foot on the brakes while cornering… There were a few other mistakes (like the turning radius being large, or not keeping to the left enough)
I don’t know if any suggestions will help, but go ahead…
Japanese people have weird habits really, example the lady living below me in a 2DK apartment opens up the window shutters on all the 4 sides of the apartment in the morning and closes them all when it gets dark. The level of noise and disturbance it creates.. geez almost like she’s manually moving a house.
Edit – As expected of this sub, I get downvoted for absolutely no reason. Most people on this sub are westerners that seem to be quite frustrated with how things work here in Japan. If you’re that upset that your country isn’t the center of the universe or if you have problems with the Japanese system then fuck off back to your country you miserable cunts and lastly, LMG.
Whats the best place to find Jobs here that arent absolute scum? Currently working for an Eikaiwa and I need to get out. Most jobs I see posted are just more entry level black company english teaching jobs though
