Just made a new youtube channel to watch japanese youtube videos, but recommendations are still mostly in english even after setting language to japanese, country to japan, and subbing to some japanese channels. How can i change it to only japanese?
Just continue to watch only things with JP titles in the name and it will change soon. It takes a bit for recommendation algo to catch on to what you are watching. I didn’t make a new account but took just a couple of weeks to convert my entire homepage refreshes into entirely JP recommendations.
It gave you the first recommendations based on your location, probably. But if you watch a ton of jp vids, the algorithm will figure out to give you other jp vids. Did this with English vids (I am not a native speaker).
Watch Japanese stuff more and “Not Interested” any non-Japanese stuff. Youtube probably also checks your IP and will recommend you stuff based on your region. When I used a JP VPN server, my entire youtube homepage was Japanese recommendations (without logging into an account).
i think it will adjust over time. im in germany but only watch english videos, and my recommendations are never german.
if you start watchign, liking and subscribing to only japanese content it should catch on pretty quickly
plus if its just a different channel within the samge google account, i’m not sure it even affects the recommendations
