Questions about career paths in English and English literature

I’m (F19) wanting to move to Japan in about 4 years. I’m from the U.S. about to go to Germany to study English in University. I have a 4.0 GPA from grade school and studied advanced English literature.

I want to move to Japan after I graduate but I’m hoping to go into the field I’ve been studying my whole life. I’ve heard that English teachers don’t get paid a lot. I’m not looking for a lot of money. I just want to live a comfortable, quiet life and have enough to eat out every once in a while and pay my bills and music subscription. Will English teaching cover that or should I be looking for something else? What other career options are available in Japan for English and English literature?
