How to file furusato nozei in tax returns?

Hi all,

Last year we registered for furusato nozei for the first time via ふるさとapp (satofull.jp).The selection was as one-stop. When we connected the my number card, the payment went through but there was some error (?) for mynumber card connection (according to my husband)

However, throughout the year I did not see any changes in my tax on payslips. I actually not sure if it would be reflected?
This year I submitted the 年末調整 via work but I have no idea how to get back my furusato nozei contribution…
I am really a novice there and I would like to know:
1) how to file the furusato nozei contribution and get tax deduction from my residence taxes.
2) where and when the tax deduction from my residence taxes would be reflected (i.e. the decrease each month visible on my payslip, the return would be made in one transfer in the end of the year etc etc)

I would be so grateful if you could help me!

  1. Well it cost cash to get the things. But hope you get your offsets. Still a big ponzie scheme in my opinion as it does not actually help anyone in the area and detract from your local area taxes. But when in Rome do as Romans do hey…

There’s no “we”, furusato nozei is individual and only affects your own tax.

Did you get the one-stop form and fill it out and send it in before the end of the year?

It should affect your residence tax, which for regular workers gets deducted from June-May payslips.

Either you send the one-stop form in by the end of the year this year (I think? Something like that), or you file a tax return next February-March and list it on there.

Donations you made this year should reduce the residence tax that you see deducted from your payslip from June 2024 to May 2025 (assuming that’s how you pay your residence tax).
