Visa for grandparents? Help

Hi! I’d like to receive any recommendations about visa for my parents to entry in Japan.
Do exist Ia visa for foreigners grandparents of Japanese grandchildren?

I am living right now in Japan as a student. But, in the future I’d like to get married with a japanese girl and have children. My ask is: If I had a japanese child, is there any possibility for my parents to get a visa (grandparents visa for example)? They have some rights in Japan because theay are japanese grandchildren’s grandparents?

What do you recommend for my parents for entry in Japan in a long staying? They love japan so much, but, obviously they are not in age for get a working visa or working holiday.

Nope. The only possible way they would have some form of rights to a visa just for being the grandparent of a Japanese child is if you, and your hypothetical wife died and the grandparents took care of the child as the legal guardians. Then, they *might* have more rights for a visa while your child is still under 18.

You should focus your efforts on obtaining a HSP (highly skilled professional) visa. Because then if you have children, while the children are under 7 years old you can sponsor a designated activities visa for your parents (the grandparents). Once the child is 7 years old though, they would then need to sort their own visa.

  2. Working visas don’t have an age requirement. Sucks but there’s not a grandparent visa outside of extreme circumstances (both of the child parents die and the Japanese side of the family isn’t given custody. Which they probably would be)

There’s the hspv but even that is only short term to have them as a nanny but they’d need to figure out their own status of residence afterwards as that’s not indefinite.
