Hi! Quick question regarding counters. I have learned that both of the following are correct:
二つのりんごを買いました。
りんごを二つ買いました。
I was wondering if then the following is also possible:
机の上にりんごが五つあります。
机の上に五つのりんごがあります。
My guess is that in the first example the counter can be connected to the object with の because of the を, not sure if the same is possible in the second example. Thanks!
I just watched the new Godzilla Movie and realized they kept saying 特攻 to the Kamikaze Fighters. I know that this a taboo subject and 特攻 is clearly a euphemism while 神風 seems to be more like a propaganda word. I wonder which term Japanese people actually use when they talk about it and when each term was coined.
Also speaking of which, anyone know any good movies about the subject that are maybe not filled with pathos?
I am learning kanji with an srs app (Kanji Study).
I actually like this app and was wondering why do all the comments here are advising Wanikani (when asking about srs or kanji learning)?
Imho, the fact that Wanikani is not available as a mobile app is a big downside for me.
So I’m basically wondering why Wanikani is so popular amongst all the srs kanji learning app/website.
Besides, if someone is using Kanji Study, feel free to give your opinion about the app 🙂
Anyone have good reading materials to bridge the gap between the Level 5 Tadoku reader and the web novels on [Jpdb.io](https://Jpdb.io)? The skill jump is quite large
can “-てほしい” be used to mean “I want you to do something” and “you want me to do something”?

Is it normal to not understand what these sentences are going for until the (*) marked sections, or is there a trick? Nouns/adj.nouns + でも trips me up since it can either mean 1. “Neither/nor” 2. “even.”
Until it reaches the negative でもない like in #1 or it doesn’t like in #2 by the final でも, I can’t tell which meaning it’s going for. While differences in meaning are obvious in negative form (なくても vs でもなく), in plain form it can be a ambiguous until it reaches the (*) portion for me.
i.e:
1. 特に便利でも不便でもない(*)。-> “It’s neither particularly convenient nor inconvenient.”
2. 不便でも危険でも(*)従業員は明日からストライキです。-> “Though inconvenient, though perilous, the employees will go on strike starting tomorrow.”
