Can someone on a dependent visa work remotely for their employer abroad?

tl;dr I am a self-employed business owner in America considering expanding in Japan. I have the capital. Assuming I can acquire a business manager visa (I know that’s a whole ordeal, but it’s not really related to my question here other than to say I’m not a Japanese citizen) my wife would like to follow with a dependent visa.

However, she really likes her job in America and would like to continue doing it remotely. Would that be an issue? She earns a fair salary in the states. (Low six figures USD)

  2. She will only be allowed to work up to 28 hours a week and whether she’s working in Japan or remote, she needs to pay taxes on her income in Japan. Most countries have a deal with Japan so you don’t get double taxed (if you’re from a country that also requires that) so I’d look into that too. Her income also has to still be dependent on yours as in I’m pretty sure there’s a number but she definitely can’t make more money than you.
