Working for Gaba and increased taxes due to requirement to sign up for QII

Just a reminder to those considering a teaching job at GABA – signing a contract with GABA means you must be enrolled in the new Qualified Invoice System as a Qualified Invoice Issuer. Essentially GABA intends to shift its consumption tax burden onto its instructors who are already underpaid and struggling to get by. GABA

It’s incredibly unfair but as Gyomu Itaku(freelancers) there isn’t anything illegal about this.

For those who say they will only use GABA for a visa and a foot in the door to Japan, the problem is that once you sign up as a QII you there’s no easy way out. You will be required to keep sales records, issue nvoices, file end of year taxes yourself – and, worst of all, you’re now on the hook for paying additional taxes on the income at every freelance job you do.
