I got some friends visiting me in japan from the UK and we plan to travel from fukuoka up to northern japan, this will be over 2 weeks and will be pretty expensive, they get to use the JR pass as they are coming in from a foreign country however i am already living here with citizenship. I do have an english passport and citizenship however i need proof of 10 years of living outside of japan from the london japanese embassy, i am unable to get this so i was wondering if there are any other ways i can get the JR pass or any other cheaper alternatives of using the Shinkansen.
