Hello! I’m starting to fine tune my itinerary for our upcoming Spring trip to Japan. I’m wondering if it’s feasible to do Enoshima, Kamakura, and Yokohama in one day? If not, would you pick Enoshima or Kamakura? The proposed date would either be Friday, March 22nd, or Sunday March 24th (it’s during school break so whichever day would be less busy in those areas is preferred).
My instinct is to go to Enoshima first thing, but from what I read, nothing is open until 9am. Is Kamakura a better starting point for seeing sights in the morning (7-9AM)? We will still be adjusting from Eastern time zone and I’d like to take advantage of early morning adventures so we could leave as early as 5am if there’s stuff worth seeing. Also down to avoid crowds when possible so early morning is appealing for that reason as well.
For reference, we will be visiting Kyoto for 5 days as well and I’m sure making time for lots of temples and the Arashiyama Bamboo grove. We will also be doing a one-day overnight to Hakone (staying at a ryokan with private onsen and kaiseki dinner).
Yokohama is a must for my husband as he wants to see the Gundam Factory during the day which I think would only allow enough time for one other city before hand. We would need to leave Enoshima by 3:30pm to have enough time to catch the 5:30 Gundam show (may just miss the 5pm show), or leave Kamakura by 4PM for the same. If we do Gundam after sunset (which is my preference) I think we can do both Enoshima and Kamakura as there’s more flexibility (wouldn’t need to leave until at least 6pm).
I’m aware of an Enoshima day pass for access to the sea candle, garden, and cave. Also open to suggestions on best tickets to purchase to ensure smoothest travel to and from Tokyo.
**Enoshima interests:**\- Sea candle- Samuel Cocking garden (wouldn’t spend too long there)- Iwaya Caves- Nakamise street- One of the Shrines
**Kamakura interests:**\- Kamakura Hase-dera- Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha and Cherry Blossoms)- Hokokuji Temple and Bamboo Forest
**Yokohama interests:**\- Gundam Factory (see from ground)- Chinatown (see at night. Have dinner there)
Thank you!
