Edit: what do you people gain by being so rude and sarcastic? Seriously. I’ve lived here for a collective 3+ years i’m not asking because i think japanese people are some enigma i need to figure out. i’m asking because there’s a language barrier and i wanted to figure out the nicest way to go about it.
wouldn’t you like the curtesy of an explanation as to why your package was missing and then randomly dumped at your door already opened? be real lol.
to those who gave a real answer and was kind, thank you!
Long story short we live in an apartment and the mailman left an amazon box at our door instead of the neighbors. My mom has a problem with ordering a ton and not knowing what is going to come in and when so I totally overlooked the mistake when grabbing it from outside.
The contents were nothing major or embarrassing, but I still feel bad and I’m being told to take care of it.
Would just knocking on their door and apologizing be alright, or should I get a small gift or something to go along with the apology? I’m probably overthinking it a bit but I want to be in good standing with my neighbors, especially since we don’t speak much Japanese so we don’t want to come off as disrespectful.
This neighbor works all day and returns late at night so I know they aren’t home now and I want to return it to them personally if I can.
Thanks! :,)
