JR East announced on April 2 that the Joetsu and Hokuriku Shinkansen lines, which had been suspended in some sections due to the Noto Peninsula earthquake, are expected to resume operations sequentially by around 3:00 p.m. on the same day.The Joetsu Shinkansen down trains are scheduled to resume around 1:30 p.m., the up trains around 2:30 p.m., and the Hokuriku Shinkansen around 3:00 p.m.
The Joetsu Shinkansen between Echigo-Yuzawa and Niigata and the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Nagano and Toyama were suspended on the morning of March 2, following the earthquake on March 1, due to equipment inspections.
