  1. It might not look like much, but at Stamina Manten Ramen Suzuki, you will find one of the most powerful and punching bowls of ramen in Tokyo.

The best description I can come up with is that it’s a lovechild of goulash and Jiro ramen. It is in fact a mix of Jiro ramen, Takeoka Shiki Ramen and the ramen of a place called Ariran in Chiba. So if you like any of these things, you will most likely enjoy this bowl of ramen as well.

Stamina ramen is not a clearly defined term. The term stamina is often used for food items which come with either lots of veggies, lots of meat or lots of garlic. At Stamina Ramen Suzuki the focus is definitely on meat, fat, garlic and onion. The flavor foundation of this bowl is onion and pork, with very strong and punchy soy sauce thrown into the mix.

The soup is definitely on the rich and salty side of things. The noodles are thick, chewy and provide some good balance to the overpowering surroundings. Everything is topped with fried onions and pork belly. On top of that, you can ask for free raw garlic, raw ginger and pork back fat. I heavily recommend you do just that. Oh and of course ordering some raw egg for dipping is heavily recommended!!

Stamina Ramen Suzuki has been my favorite bowl of the year 2021 and might win that title again in 2022. I recommend all ramen fans visiting Tokyo to grab a bowl at Suzuki.Be careful though, this bowl is only served during dinnertime.

If you would like to see more of this bowl, I made a short video about it: https://youtu.be/ZT5L9wSBou0
