This particular day isn’t ideal, it’s probably the most crowded just because of transportation. We are based in Sapporo during this part of the trip and I wanted to go to Upopoy. I basically set aside nearly the entire day to do this, expecting about 3 hours of transportation to and from Sapporo and 4-5 in the museum itself.
My friend wound up seeing something he wanted to do more, the Noboribetsu bear park – I’m not too interested from jump, and also the park seems a bit…less than humane imo but would it even be possible to do both in the same day on trains and buses or is that entirely too much? I’m thinking of just suggesting we split that day (we’re both fine with that) but he prefers we don’t if it is possible to actually enjoy both in the same day, fully and not just visiting each for a couple hours.
Another alternative is hiring a car for that day, I’m from a cold snowy climate so I shouldn’t have issues driving but between it being on the opposite side of the road, in a new place and those expressway tolls I’m not really feeling that either.
