Teaching Japanese

Hello folks

I’m gonna be teaching a small Japanese language class at my university. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The main thing i’m wondering about is how I should structure and pace thee class. It’s a short term thing, around 3 months of one or two hours a week. Ideally I’d want the students to be “N5 level” by the end so to speak. But I don’t have prior experience to know how long I should spend on stuff like hiragana and katakana before diving into more involved subjects, or if this is a realistic goal in the first place.

Any pointers and information is greatly appreciated, thanks 🙂
