First, I realize I'm likely pressing people's patience with a restaurant recommendation request in this subreddit but I really appreciate any advice. For what it's worth I live in Shinagawa, I'm just fresh off the boat (well I've been here a year) with very poor Japanese ability and am not sure about a reasonable thing to do in my situation.
A Japanese co-worker of my father and his family are going to be in Tokyo (they live in Eastern Japan) with his wife and two young children (10ish age?). They requested I make a reservation for dinner (there will be six people total) somewhere "nice" near Shinbashi Station.
I realize I'm likely overthinking this but because it's a co-worker of my fathers, and because I know very little about what might be appropriate for a Japanese family with children in terms of restaurant type, I was hoping for some advice (or ideally specific recommendations, I'm not really familiar with the area around Shinbashi station). It would also be nice / important if we were able to casually enjoy a conversation / chat at a table, where conversation is fairly easy (e.g. likely not a tiny ramen restaurant where you're sitting in a row or whatever).
It would be ideal if I could make a reservation on tablelog or similar, just on account of my lack of Japanese, but I'm also happy to go in or call.
I'm guessing something nicer but not really expensive would be ideal, e.g. ¥2000-~¥3000 per person seems reasonable to me, somewhere around there.
If this is downvoted to hell (which to be clear I understand!) I might try my luck in /r/japanlife (pray for me) and just ask what sort of restaurant is a good choice for a family with kids.
