  1. I saw そうじゃなくてです in a manga today and the て form used that way confused me. Is じゃなくてです common, does it have a different nuance than じゃないです?

  2. Bunpro says that が can be used both as ‘but’ (like in 今日は暑いが、好きです。) and as a subject marking particle (これが暑いです。). is it possible to use them in the two ways in the same sentence, so 今日が暑いが、好きです, and how do i tell which is being used in a sentence? i mean, i feel like it’s just context clues but i can see it getting confusing so i’d like to double check first :’)

side note: wow, typing on a japanese keyboard is hard. does it happen to have an input method where you just enter the romanised versiin of the characters like for chinese? TT

  3. 1. How do I train myself to not rely on furigana? I know I’m still a beginner. But, it’s hard to avoid romaji completely as a beginner, but I find myself relying on it too much, despite knowing the word.

    2. Also, any way to get familiar with a word when it’s written in a different font? It completely throws me off despite knowing the word well. Is it just a “give it time” thing?
