  1. Is とても used a lot in everyday casual speaking? I remember hearing someone say it’s pretty formal and use すごく instead

  2. I’m sentence mining episode 2 of Yuru Camp and right at the beginning this is tripping me up. A girl is looking at her phone thinking of inviting someone she met recently to go camping with her:

    >一回ぐらい誘った方がいいんだろうか

Then she decides against it, saying:

    >暖かくなるまでまだいっか

I get the gist, she wants to wait until it gets warmer (it’s currently winter), but I’m not sure what いっか is doing here.

  3. Someone once linked me to a browser plugin that has been fantastic for watching stuff on Crunchyroll, but some of my very favorite shows aren’t licensed in the US at all anymore so I have only the copies archived on my Plex server, which, being rips of US-market DVDs and Blu-Rays, don’t have Japanese subtitles. I could, in theory, manually remux every single file with the subtitles I would use in the browser plugin, but that seems really laborious.

Is there a tool that will remux a whole season of files at once? Or a way to enable Plex’s built in subtitle agent to search the recommended sites for subtitles? Or, heck, is there a subtitle application that will just overlay my screen so I can just do the same thing as I would do with the browser plugin for a show on crunchyroll? Thanks!

  4. I recently put some of my phone apps into Japanese and on discord, when someone is typing, beside their name it reads が人カ中. I’m very very new to the language but I’m wanting to know the literal translation. From what I surmise, a person 人 is performing an action. What is カ中? Nothing comes up when I look it up.
